Focusing on the physical and social property of “bubble” as a vital theme, Bubble Crossing associates the flow of people with the flow of soap bubbles. Using the data visualization method, the installation transforms the accumulated data of human flow in an exhibition space into an abstract and poetic drawing. The sensors attached at the entrance trigger the bubble machines as they detect people coming in and going out. The soap bubbles fly freely in the air, and they eventually pop and leave marks on the floor.

 

Bubble Crossingは、「泡」の物理的および社会的性質に焦点を当て、シャボン玉の流れを人々の流れになぞらえた作品です。 データ・ビジュアライゼーションの手法を使用したインスタレーションは、展示空間内での鑑賞者の流れをデータ化、蓄積し、 抽象的で詩的なドローイングに変換します。 入り口に取り付けられたセンサーが、人々の出入りを検知し、バブルマシンを作動させます。 マシンから生み出されたシャボン玉は空中を自由に飛び、やがて弾けて、床にその軌跡を残します。
